Role Purpose: The Oracle database administrator is responsible for the engineering, deployment, operation and support of Oracle database server infrastructure within the expected quality. The DBA analyses, fixes incidents and problems and assures, that the service and its availability is continuously improved, based on the agreed SLAs. For other internal engineers, application specialists, architects and project leaders, the DBA acts also as a technical consultant within his expertise. Key Accountabilities: Ensure a stable operation of the Oracle database infrastructure Highly standardised and fast deployment of new Oracle databases Applying of critical patch updates for Oracle databases Analysis and improvement of performance of the Oracle database, in collaboration with application developers Documentation of the infrastructure based on the internal rules and standards Skills: Good technical understanding of a complex IT Infrastructure (> 200 Servers) Able to fix incidents under pressure in a structured manner Good communication skills Customer focused and service oriented mind-set Good analytical and conception conceptual skills Fluent in German and English Required Experience: Higher university degree or similar 4-6 years of experience in engineering, installation, maintainance and operation of Oracle RAC Cluster databases installed on Unix servers (RHEL 7.x) Experience in setup of resource monitoring with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and it’s analysis on Oracle database servers Experience with Oracle database specific tools e.g. Data Guard, RMAN and Oracle RAC Experience with Hitachi Storage Systems and its clone and snapshot features Experience with high availability solutions, disaster recovery technologies and integration methodologies Experience in working with ITIL processes for Incident-, Change- and Problem Management Experience of working in teams and designing new solutions with other engineers Experience in middleware products e.g. WebLogic, Java, Apache Tomcat would be an asset Basic knowledge of LAN zones and firewall principles
